Many people understand that browsing the World Wide Web means that you go from one place to another through a series of links. What they often do not realize is the power of those links to enhance as websites page rank on most search engines.

Search engines more and more are using links in addition to meta-tags and content to 'score' a site on its ranking for keywords.  A page without many links will have a lower ranking than a page with more links. 

Now simply placing  a random collection of links will also not help and can even hinder a sites search engine ranking.  A clear linking strategy will help a site gain in search engine rank and in turn traffic.
